Chestnut cottage is situated above Kanal in the small traditional village of Gorenja Vas. Here the beautifully maintained gardens provide sound evidence of Slovenia's reputation as the market garden of Europe. The center of Kanal and the train station are a mere 5 minute stroll away.

Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms, 2 double and 1 twin and a balcony, all with views of the village and surrounding hills. All bed linen and towels are provided.
The ground floor has a lounge with a wood burner and two 3 seater sofas which can be converted into additional beds on request. The lounge is equipped with television, DVD / CD player and sky box. There are a selection of DVDs available.
A new kitchen was fitted in 2008 complete with locally sourced timber work tops (acacia). It is fully equipped for self catering and facilities include microwave, cooker, fridge freezer.
There is a new bathroom and also a laundry room with washing machine and dryer.
Outside there is a paved parking / patio area at the front, shaded in the summer by the canopy of our kiwi trees. Steps lead down to a large wooden deck at the back of the house. This overlooks a terraced orchard and the stream below provides a relaxing backdrop for a lazy summer BBQ.
The house and grounds are all within a boundary fence allowing peace of mind for families with small children.
